Check the Ingredient before buying Sun Block Lotion

August 19th, 2009 by applely

While i was surfing others’ blog article, i came across these information about the active ingredients for sun screen liquid/lotion.

Photobucket

Not all the ingredients can protect us from both UVA and UVB. In order to get fairer & younger skin, make sure to check on these ingredients before you buy any of the sun screen products.

Walking through the mall, we found that there’s nothing much suit our taste. The clothes style there looks closer to foreigner’s style, might looks a bit odd for us asian to wear. We decided not to waste our time there.

Photobucket
Observing the ladies in singapore, most of them like to wear hot-pants. Due to hot weather? But I think it’s also quite trendy in kuching lately.

I’ve no idea whether i’m still in ngee an city or Takashimaya now. Since these 2 mall is just side-by-side, with a side entrance interconnecting to each other. I think that’s the reason why my cousin couldn’t find us due to i gave her wrong info .. Opss.. sorry sis!

Photobucket
Louis Vuitton Outlet - Look! Lotsa people queueing up to buy????
In Kuching, fake LV is extremely common here. You can see a lot of people riding an old motorbike but carrying a handbag with LV logo. From the material and colour tone, we can see that it’s not real, maybe a grade B/C fake LV.

However, I noticed that LV Bag are so common in singapore. I went into one of the outlet, i saw so many ladies holding a real LV.. but still seeking for the latest model in that outlet. Business seems good there huh? I’ve never encounter any case that queueing up is necessary for any of the KL Outlet. For most of the case, the outlet is near empty.

I guess the main reason why real branded stuffs are common in singapore is due to the currency. For example, buying a LV neverfull handbag in KL, we need to pay at least RM2000+ , this is almost/at least one month salary for most of the people here. However in singapore, it’s only selling at few hundred dollar SGD in singapore due to currency exchange. For somebody earning SGD2000-3000 a month, buying a bag that worth a few hundred SGD is so much easier than those who earn RM. Therefore, it’s no surprise if u see singapore ladies own a few LV bags as collection.

We had some snack at bottom floor in Takashimaya, and then we moved on to Paragon. After that we entered a small shopping centre, i forgot the name of that shopping centre .. “Lucky Plaza” or something .. i can’t recall .. and i bought this … Yukata for SGD 16.

After the walk at Bugis Street, the sky is already dark. We proceed to a nearby street, where there’s lots of the bargain stalls. Then we saw this big statue of ChengHo holding Chinese dumplings. That time during our visit, it’s quite near to the Chinese Dumpling Festival / Dragon Boat Festival(端午节).

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

In the middle of the street, there’s a smaller shopping mall selling mainly all sorts of feng shui items & crystals. This is what we saw:

Photobucket
For display only.

Photobucket

The shops and stalls near the entrance sell at quite expensive price. I suggested that we shop from the top floor, and slowly move downwards. Since i know top floor is always the cheapest.

I’m quite right at this, hehe .. we found a shop up there which is selling crystals at a very good price. At least much cheaper than those i can get in kuching or through mail order from KL. All of us purchase some crystals display items at that shop. Hehe ..

By the time we done our shopping at crystal shop, wow .. it’s 10pm already .. We non-stop walking for the whole day already. Time to go back lo …

Day 1 (28/5/2009)

After all those planning & survey we had done over these few months, finally this is the day of our actual departure. Yesss!!!! So excited!

Photobucket
My passport Photobucket
This is the first time i went on-board to an international flight. I’ve to fill in this form …

Actually this is the 2nd attempt visiting outside m’sia. The first visit was to Brunei more than 5 years back then. That time i was still pursuing my first year degree course at Miri. I travelled to Brunei with a gang to hostel friends, we travelled by land transport. 3-hours ride to Bandar Sri Begawan.

I’ve only manage to get a stamp on my first passport, and this time i’ve got another first stamp on my new passport … I feel like i was wasting money for the first passport, for not travel more…

Arrival at Changi Airport, Singapore.

Health scan due to A(H1N1) virus …

Me and mom meet up with kj at the arrival hall, then we took a cab to my cousin’s house. We went for supper at a nearby cafe, and that’s all for the day since it’s quite late already after our meal.

Day 1 (28/5/2009)

1. Little India

Photobucket
LRT station @ Kangkar

Public Transportation: MRT, LRT and buses sytems at singapore uses the same Ezlink card.

KJ’s & my mom borrowed the Ezlink card from my cousin, while i borrow Catherine’s (My bro’s gf) card. She went for short dance course at Singapore and just came back the day we departed. She proposed to lend me the card, she is quite nice huh? hehe ..

2. China Town

After a whole morning walk at Little India, we started to feel hungry. I seems to us that the food at little india might not suit our appetite best. So, we decided to return to the MRT station for a ride to Chinatown which is only one station away, if not mistaken.

Photobucket

Look at the MRT station… haha … looks like Phua Chu Kang is really a great idol at singapore, I can almost see his potrait everywhere in singapore. I admit that he does make the MRT station more lively in his humourous accent & trademark yellow contruction boots.

And here we arrived at Chinatown.

Before i manage to step inside the temple main hall, i saw a big notice. Whoever wearing sleeveless top, short pants, mini skirt (above knee length) are prohibited from entering. From the earlier photo, u guys can see that i was wear hot pants at that time. What’s the solution then???? There’s some scarf / fabric provided at the main entrace, we can borrow them free-of-charge.

Once i stepped inside, my eyes were caught by a shining glittering gold colour … wow … Even the lamp fittings are so unique & grand, also gold in colour.

b. 4th Floor

This floor has a big prayer room, inside there’s another room with wide glass windows. Inside there’s extremely luxurious design made of pure gold. We were told that photo shooting is prohibited since there’s pure gold inside, it might be due to our flash light can cause oxidation to the gold element.

We donated angpow, and the monk said some prayer to each of us whom had donated.

Gawai Holiday - Back to office with tonns of work piled over my desk

June 4th, 2009 by applely

I’m off from work for 3 working days + (4 days Public holiday & weekend) , for a vacation to Singapore, staying at my cousin’s cozy apartment. It’s really a nice trip, it was enjoyable and I’ve took lots of photo. I’ll blog about it after I organise all those photos. I did not shop that much, comparing to the mega sale in KL. Surprisingly I do not need to use the extra foldable luggage bag that my dear dear prepared for me. Although we were there just in time for The Great Singapore Sale, everything is still somewhat expensive after multiply by 2.4 (Currency exchange). Still, I’ve manage to grab a few items at reasonable price ..

I’ve returned to my office this morning, my pigeon hole is fulled up with lotsa un-processed documents as expected. Also lotsa telephone calls from client’s office, contractors, from those who are unable to reach me over the week .. It was really a busy & stressful day .. Same thing happened to my dear dear…

Joke quoted from one of KJ’s senior, “If someone is away from work for the whole week, but the workdesk is still empty, isn’t that even more unusual? Be prepared to pack up your belongings, if this really happen… ” Which is really true, isn’t it? We should be delightful, since this showed that the company still need us, aren’t we?

Think this way, and be happy .. =P

Cheers.

Souvenir from Liverpool

May 16th, 2009 by applely

My office has a culture of giving away souvenir, if case anyone from our department came back from a vacation.

Early this month, one of my senior (Victoria) went to Liverpool for holiday. This is what she brought back for us. One for each of us.

If u chop the candy into pieces, u can see the word “LIVERPOOL” inside ..

Of coz i’ll need to buy some souvenir for my colleagues when i go to Singapore end of the month… Any suggestion?
